Measuring task and principle
Pyrometers infer temperature from thermal radiation. This requires the emissivity of the surface to be known and stable. On bright, reflective or changing surfaces this is often not the case, and readings become uncertain.
Lune-CHF's convective heat flow (CHF) process takes a different route: it uses the convective heat flow between surface and measuring head to determine temperature without contact. align measuring principle with Lune-CHF
Applications
Bright metal surfaces
Temperature measurement on materials with low or unknown emissivity.
Changing surface conditions
Where scale, oxidation or coating alter the emissivity.
Strip and processing lines
Temperature monitoring on running strip. add specific reference applications
Benefits
Less dependent on emissivity
Reliable readings where radiation measurement is uncertain.
Non-contact
No damage to the surface, no wear on the sensor.
Complements pyrometry
Can be combined with infrared pyrometers at other measuring points.
